Careers prospects of SRHU students enhanced through Collaboration with Tsukuba University

Tsukuba University representatives examine various departments of SRHU

The careers of students at Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) Jolly Grant are set to reach new heights. A delegation from Tsukuba University, one of Japan's top research universities, made an official visit to Swami Rama Himalayan University. During this visit, detailed discussions were held on the possibilities of research, innovation, and teacher and student exchange programs.

A delegation led by Dr. Ohneda Osamu, Executive Officer of International Strategy at Tsukuba University, formally met with Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, President of Swami Rama Himalayan University. During the meeting, they discussed the role of yoga in medical education and patient care. Dr. Vijay Dhasmana noted that most people worldwide are struggling with psychosomatic disorders. Due to changing lifestyles, it has become essential to integrate yoga into daily life. He emphasized the importance of a holistic healthcare model that focuses on disease prevention and addressing their root causes. Dr. Ohneda Osamu also agreed on the importance of yoga and expressed a commitment to future collaboration in this field.

SRHU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Dobhal highlighted the importance of India-Japan cooperation in the fields of science and technology. He said that both countries have expertise that can be used to tackle global health challenges. By combining India's traditional knowledge of Ayurveda and yoga with Japan's advanced technological capabilities, we can develop innovative approaches to combat the spread of non-communicable diseases.

Dr. Vijendra Chauhan, Director General of Academic Development, informed the Japanese delegation about SRHU's achievements. Dr. Ashok Kumar Deorari, Principal of HIMS, appreciated the collaborative initiatives to provide better facilities in the health sector with Tsukuba University's cooperation.

During the visit, the Japanese delegation toured various academic and medical units of the university. Tsukuba University professors Dr. Ohneda Osamu, Dr. Randeep Rakhwal, and Ohnishi Miwa praised SRHU's efforts in integrating yoga in medicine, research, and innovation. On this occasion, Registrar Dr. Mukesh Bijalwan, Dr. Sunil Saini, Dr. Renu Dhasmana, Dr. Prakash Keshaviah, Dr. Apurva Trivedi, and principals of various colleges were present.
